Had Another Great Time at Ameristar Casino Vicksburg,MS

Had a great time saturday night with wife and her sister at the Ameristar casino Vicksburg,MS! We arrived early and played the slot machines, some roulette, and video poker machines. A lively time was had by all. I was the lucky one for the night after hitting some small jackpots on some dollar and 50 cent machines. They were pretty hot for me for the night so I ended up playing til early in the morning! Arrrggggh.... these two ladies kept me out way too late for this old guy haha! I had to replenish my wife and her sister's money supply from my winnings to keep them going strong but they eventually were tapped out. I always love going to this area of Misssissippi because of the beautiful scenery of the Mississippi river which lies below the Ameristar casino which overlooks the scenic area. We always have a great time there and enjoy the great food and company there. The service is always good, the atmosphere is always exciting, the bathrooms are clean, and we always seem to win at least enough to keep us playing for as long as we care to. In closing, I encourage you to get yourself on over there and start having some fun!

The Mississippi Blues Trail

If you are coming to Mississippi to visit you must schedule time to take in the Mississippi Blues Trail and experience the blues where they were born!  There is also an Iphone app available for download that lists all of the historic sites that are of importance to the history of the Mississippi blues.  Here is the link to the State of Mississippi website that can give you a tremendous amount of information about the blues, it's history, and all of the historic locations throughout Mississippi.  Click Here for the link.  Here is also a link to "Southern Crossroads", which is an excellent site that offers blues music, blues concert events and dates, contests, and blues news.  I highly recommend this site for all of the Mississippi blues fans.  The only Real Blues out there!

What's Happening at Silver Star & Golden Moon?

Curious minds would sure like to know what was going on with the recent activity at the Silver Star & Golden Moon Indian casino resorts.  Information has been limited to the dealings going on there.  With a newly elected Chief in the Choctaw Nation there could be many changes forthcoming in the ways that future business will be conducted.  Recent news is that they have dumped the Atlanta marketing group that was hired for work under former Chief Beasley Mico Denson, who was under the gun for some questionable business dealings with the marketing group. I guess time will tell. Will keep you posted.

Now on to more fun things!  Unfortunately, with recent things going on, I have not been able to get to the casinos too much this month but am hoping that will change soon! However we would love to hear your stories about your excursions and escapades to them! Write in and tell us all about it!

Ameristar Casino Review

My wife and I had a great time at the Ameristar Casino last night! We arrived about 7pm to a crowded casino, restaurant, but the place is huge with a ton of slot machines of all denominations to play. We didn't really ever have to wait to play any machine we wanted.  The table games craps, poker, roulette were also crowded but available to players very quickly...don't know if that is good or bad? Anyhow, the table staff and the wait staff were all very friendly and quick with good service. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we have on previous visits and have found it to be fair to good but nothing spectacular. They seem to cater to the most average palates on the buffet line and the other restaurant was only average as well with slow service even when there was no crowd. Now on to the rest of the story. We experienced the best luck playing slot machines, mainly the $1.00 slots and specifically the sizzlin' 7's slots. I hit the 3 red sevens on two occasions winning $600, my wife did even better! by hitting a $2400.00 Jackpot! Cha-Ching!!!
There was also a band playing in the Bottleneck Blues Bar. They were quite good as well and had the crowd on their feet dancing the night away.
All in all I would say that we had a really good time, won a little money,  got entertained. and they paid us to do it!!! What a deal!

Having a great time at Ameristar casino!

Wow it is quite crowded here! About to head into the bottleneck blues bar and check out the band. Have seen some slot winners but not me yet! Was up a little on the roulette table for a bit but not now! Gonna keep tryin! Wife having better luck though on the quarter machines! She is up about $100...shaming me so far. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful Mississippi River bridge and the Ameristar Casino at sunset. I took a couple of shots of the barges going down the river also, very scenic place to visit.

Ameristar Casino Visit and review

My wife and I will be visiting the Ameristar Casino this evening in Vicksburg, MS. It should be an enjoyable evening for us as we have been unable to get out for a date in the past couple of weeks due to a family illness but we are back now and ready to resume our dates.  Ameristar casino boasts a full service casino and hotel which is separate from the main casino site but within walking distance. The casino has been recently remodeled thoroughly inside with many available slots and table games. Ameristar casino is just a short drive from Jackson, MS at about 45 miles, located conveniently on I-20 in Vicksburg, MS at the exit just before crossing the Mississippi River bridge or immediately after crossing the bridge coming from Lousiana. Well, we are off to visit the casino! Wish us luck! Anyhow we know we will have some fun!. We hope to have a review posted soon on our visit so come back to see it next week. Bye for now, James.
